Housekeeping for Jan 2023
A few short updates
So far, the two most popular posts are both about companies, Be and ARM. This isn’t too surprising as these two took far longer to write than any others, and they involved far more research. The exception to that was the 3 part BASIC series. Those took a considerable amount of time and research, but the series didn’t do as well. I suppose that programming languages aren’t as fascinating as companies themselves. Video game posts do not seem to do as well, and articles about anything modern seem to do even worse. Tutorials seem to perform the absolute worst. I primarily write for the enjoyment of it, so I will occasionally dip into those less popular categories anyway. If you wish to get more of any particular type of article, please let me know in the comments.
Moving forward, I have decided to change a few things about the publication. Paid subscribers now receive articles up to 2 weeks before free subscribers. They pay, and they deserve benefits for their hard-earned money. This is now in place with my latest article. Additionally, DRM-free PDFs will be posted to the PDF archive page instead of being included at the bottom of each page. These PDFs are still available only to my paid subscribers.
Thank you to everyone who subscribes, and especially thank you to my paid subscribers. This publication is doing far better than I ever thought possible, and I hope that you all continue to find value in it. If you wish to support this publication, please share it and consider becoming a paid subscriber. Currently, I have temporarily discounted “Founding Member” subscriptions to $170 from $250. The key advantage to that level of subscription is that it is a one-time payment for the lifetime of this publication.
