I usually avoid including deaths within an article and do so only when it directly impacts the historical development (like Katz). Every death is tragic, and if any family members of the deceased are reading, I don’t want to make fresh their pain.
I enjoyed reading. Abraham Lempel passed away a few weeks ago, sadly. Jacob Ziv still teaches at the Technion at 91. What giants of the field!
