I came across this game early because Loki Software had ported it to Linux, and it was one of the few games a young Linux nerd could play. I have since then installed it on all my machines when I am looking for a few hours to waste away in the ambience.
I remember seeing Loki games at Electronics Boutique, SMAC among them. They still have downloads of their work available (not the actual binaries but the art and descriptions and such):
I used to have scripts to deal with the older linking of libraries so these still could run on modern linux systems, but someone has actually put them into docker if you are looking to still play them!
